Serious Straw is serious in saving the seas.
Many people use disposable plastic because it is convenient, but it is regrettably tremendously harmful to the environment due to overproduction and misuse, as well as the fact that it is neither recyclable or properly disposed of (AZA, 2021). Straws are among the worst pollutants of waste materials since they are frequently used only once. According to statistics, over 500 million straws are used every day in the United States (AZA, 2021). According to multiple studies, 7 out of 10 species of birds and 3 out of 10 species of turtle have swallowed particular types of plastic garbage as a result of water pollution, which are both shocking rates (AZA, 2021).
Clearly, our seas and sea creatures are in danger because of us. Water pollution caused by human's actions of using and throwing one-time use plastic is causing negative impact to our waters. This is what Serious Straw would like to address.
Serious Straw curates reusable straws in order to save the seas. Serious Straw also offers other reusable products such as plates, cups, and utensils. To ensure our inventory is top of the line, we ensure that we only carry the best quality materials that are sustainable and eco-friendly.
However, aside from offering earth-friendly straws, Serious Straw also supports non-profit organizations, such as Plastic Pollution Coalition and Ocean Conservancy, who are focusing on the advocacy of saving the ocean. Portion of our revenues will be donated to a specific organization every quarter. We will have a quarterly update of the organization we helped in our blog post in Serious Straw’s official website. It is our mission to make a difference one step at a time and our collective effort can surely make a positive impact for our world and for the next generation.
Serious Straw is really serious in saving the seas.
